October Happenings

The month of October has flown by! Where does the time go? I thought I would update you on all of the happenings around our house for the month of October.

*We finished another season of soccer. Larry coached Ethan's team for another season, and Sarah had an amazing new coach. Sarah is the goalie in this picture.

*Ethan competed in several marching band competitions with the Herriman High School Marching Mustangs. It was Herriman High's inaugural year, and the band did awesome! We went to the marching band family night and watched him march; he is an amazing performer!

*Taylor was assigned to another area in Argentina (Villa Angela) and has a new companion. His companion, Elder Contreras, is from Colombia. Here is a picture of Elder Moore celebrating Noche de Hogar with a local family.

And one of him just relaxing! (Isn't this a cool picture?)

*Our family spent a Saturday at Wheeler Farm with Michael's and Rebecca's family going on a hay ride, wandering through the corn maze, and picking our favorite pumpkins. The weather cooperated for a bit, but when it started raining, we headed home. Ethan wasn't with us at the farm because of marching band, but he joined us later for dinner and pumpkin carving.

Sarah picked the picture perfect pumpkin!

Miranda and Rachel spent the time socializing while finding the perfect pumpkins!
(It is just starting to rain...)

Let the pumpkin carving begin!
(Katie looks a little concerned about the whole idea!)

Ellie has the idea!
Sarah is not too sure about putting her hand inside the pumpkin!

Miranda, Rachel, Tanner and Ethan... They took FOREVER to carve their pumpkins!
We were all starving by the time they were finished!

*We had our annual Ward Halloween Party. The Young Men and Young Women were in charge of all of the games, so the youth had to dress up. Ethan dressed as Jack Skellington, and Larry painted his face since masks weren't allowed. His costume was a hit!

*Miranda took Sarah trick-or-treating this year! It was a good excuse for her to pick up some candy as well! It was rainy and cold, so they did not last too long out there.
Here they are as a Zombie Soccer Player and a Gothic Princess.
(Ethan was at a marching band competition again!)

Other Happenings...

*Miranda was inducted into the National Honor Society at Bingham High School. She took the ACT test for the third time (she just has to beat her score!). She attended the Aggie Leadership Extravaganza at Utah State University this past Friday and loved every minute of it (especially the Aggie Ice Cream).

*Taylor turned 20! He raved about not being a teenager anymore! Larry and I are getting old!

*Staci completed another round of Parent Teacher Conferences (more than a month early) to prepare for Baby Boy's arrival. Dr. Bowman put Staci on "limited activity" so that she can keep the swelling to a minimum and keep the boy from making his appearance too early. So, after conferences, Staci spent the next two weeks creating lesson plans for the next nine weeks of school. Yuck! It will be nice to have that time off with the baby, however! Just 24 days to go!
