A Beautiful Day For a Blessing

Today was William's blessing day. We woke up to beautiful blue skies and fairly warm temperatures for January. The morning went practically perfectly due to the fact that I had set everything out last night that we needed for 9:00 church, and we had prepared all of the food for the brunch. The only thing I was worried about was that William would have a "blow out" in his blessing outfit (that is a Moore baby tradition!). So, I took pictures before church just in case! Isn't he the cutest?

Larry gave William a wonderful blessing, and William cooperated nicely. When Larry headed out of the chapel immediately following the blessing, I looked at my mom and just laughed. William had made some rumblings during the blessing and Larry was worried about a "blow out." False alarm. We made it through church and had a wonderful brunch with our family following the meeting. I am so grateful for a husband who honors his priesthood and was able to bless our sweet little William.

Baby Feet

Baby feet have to be the cutest things ever! I could play with William's bare feet all day long. He has the longest toes, and he can spread them apart like a monkey. William is starting to notice his hands and feet. These pictures are priceless!

For the Love of Reading!

We have had a routine every morning since Christmas... I feed William while Sarah eats breakfast and gets herself ready for school. I do Sarah's hair while Will lies in his crib talking to the baby in the mirror. As soon as Sarah's hair is finished, she scrambles to the baby's crib and picks him up. That is the deal; Sarah must be completely ready for school before she can hold William. This past week, I walked into the nursery to find William gazing intently up at Sarah while she read a book to him. He absolutely loves it when we read to him! His favorite book is The Big Red Barn by Margaret Wise Brown. He loves when we make the animal sounds. I am so grateful that our children love books and learning!

Lucky Number Eight!

Today is William's eight-week birthday, and it is a day to celebrate! Minutes ago, I received a phone call from Dr. Warnock at Primary Children's Medical Center. We had our second visit with her this past Friday, and William had labs done again. We have been waiting for the results. The results of these lab tests determine William's future medical treatment. So, I have a new lucky number....eight! William's methylmalonic acid level in his urine was eight! He was 315 three weeks ago. His plasma level from Friday was .92 and was 10 three weeks ago. I have never heard such wonderful news. What does this all mean? William is responding to the vitamin B12 injections! His levels have all normalized. We are summarizing that he does not have a mutated enzyme; he just needed a "jump start" with vitamin B12. So, now we will wait for one month and have labs taken again to see where his levels are then. If they are still normal, we will test again in another month, and so on and so on.

I am feeling especially blessed right now. I look at my little boy and know that the future is going to be fantastic! He will continue to grow and develop just like his brothers and sisters. He is our little miracle! There have been a lot of people praying for little William since we discovered his disorder. I believe his brother, Taylor, has probably prayed the hardest for a healthy outcome. I cannot wait to tell Elder Moore the news. Missionary blessings! I want to testify to you that I know without a doubt that our Heavenly Father hears our prayers. He grants blessings when it is in our best interest to receive them. He knows us and carries us through difficulties and opposition. I am grateful for this knowledge.

Oh, and I didn't tell you...William weighed in at 10 lbs. 14 1/2 oz. on Friday! There is no problem with "failure to thrive" now! We are saying goodbye to all of the newborn clothes! Happy eight-week birthday, Little Will!
